Constructing Effective Statements of Intended Learning Outcomes for Grant Recipients

GRANTS - LTSI Grants

This 2 1/2 hour workshop will focus on constructing statements of intended learning outcomes for a course or project. The workshop will introduce several concepts including what we want our students to be able to do after the course (performances), how well they will be able to do the performances (criteria), and the circumstances under which we would expect the students to demonstrate mastery (conditions). By the end of the workshop participants will construct at least five module-level learning outcomes for their target course or project and give and receive constructive feedback. Participants are asked to bring their current learning outcome statements (if they exist) and be prepared to describe briefly their target course or project to fellow participants.
